Welcome to the Governors' Page
Please read on to find out a bit more about the
governors of Molescroft Primary School...

Tony Knight
Retiring as a college principal, but still addicted to education, I
joined the governing body some ten years ago. During that time I
have witnessed the impressive growth and success of the school with
pride. Currently I am Chair of the Governing Body, and of the
Finance and Personnel Committee. For the East Riding, I am Chair of
the Schools Forum, the Governor
Development Committee, and I also chair Exclusions and Admissions
Appeals Panels. |

I am an LA Governor with responsibility for Early Years, ICT and RE.
My work is based at Bishop Grosseteste University College where I am
a member of the PGCE Primary team. I am also an External Examiner
for the 3 yr B.Ed course at the University of Gloucestershire and an
executive member of the National organisation TACTYC (Training,
Advancement and Co-operation in Teaching Young Children). It is a
privilege to be a member of the Governing body at this outstanding
school and work with the team at Molescroft Primary.

I have lived in Molescroft for over 20 years, although a Londoner by
birth. I have been a Community Governor
for about six years and am also a Molescroft Parish Councillor. My
daughter was a pupil at Molescroft School before moving to Longcroft
School. |

I have been a Parent Governor for three years and really enjoy being
involved in Molescroft School. It was always my ambition to work
with children is some capacity so I trained as a
paediatric
nurse and have worked as a Staff Nurse on the
paediatric
Unit at Hull Royal Infimary for nearly 14 years. There are some sad
moments but on the whole it is hugely rewarding to care for children
and their families.
My
three children all attend Molescroft School. Sam is now in Year 5,
Ben is in Year 3 and Libby is in Year 1. I regularly volunteer in
school and listen to children read which has given me valuable
insight into "School Life" and has helped me in the role of
Governor. Being on the board of Governors has really made me
appreciate the hard work and effort which goes into making
Molescroft such a wonderful school.

I am a teacher governor and currently work in the Foundation Stage.
This is my fourth year at Molescroft Primary school and I love every
minute of it. I was born and raised in Beverley before completing a
degree in Fashion Merchandise Management which led to a PGCE,
specializing in Early Years. I am also the Gifted and Talented
leading teacher for the Beverley cluster and I run the Enrichment
Society for the Gifted and Talented children at Molescroft Primary
School. |
